Bursary recipients will also be encouraged to ensure that the experience they gain goes towards improving operations of the mining sector. This isn’t only limited to the day-to-day operations of the organisation, but also impacts on communities.
As a well-known company within the engineering and mining sector, Anglo-American continues to provide operations within these sectors, in partnership with communities.
Anglo-American started a solar energy electrification programme in June 2016, which reached eight countries where Amplats operates. What made this a success is the method chosen by the CSI team to ensure that deep consultation was undertaken with the communities. As a result, the solar panels are safeguarded by community members.
Anglo-American Coal Bursaries will empower students to make a difference.
